March is Women's History Month, and at, we're excited to celebrate and honor the incredible women who are part of the INNOPLEX family. This month, we are shining a spotlight on a couple of our amazing female employees in a series of interviews. We believe that it is important to recognize the contributions and achievements of women in the workplace, and we are proud to have such talented individuals on our team.

Meet Britney Blume!
Role: System Administrator
Tenure: 7 years, 4 Months
Q: How did you first get into this industry?
BB: I got my initial start as a High School Work Study student during my senior year of high school (2006-2007). After graduation, I continued working there through the summer until I resigned and became a contractor in September 2007.
Q: What’s something you like about being a woman in our industry today?
BB: One thing I love about being a woman in our industry is the ability to collaborate and learn from other women. Working in the industry has allowed me to meet many influential women from all walks of life and remarkable backgrounds. It has been a privilege to take those life lessons or enlightenment, and apply them to my own life.
Q: Growing up, was there someone in your life that inspired you to become who you are today?
BB: My parents were instrumental in helping me become who I am today. My mom always inspired me to be a leader, not a follower. It's not always easy to stand alone and walk your path. However, it's during that journey that you discover your true resilience. My dad always taught me to work hard and make no excuses. Sometimes things may not go the way you planned, and that is okay. Don't let that be the reason you stop moving forward.
Q: Is there a woman from history that you find especially inspiring?
BB: Although many women in history have made a vast impact, it would be hard for me to choose just one. I value and admire women who have integrity, push the limits, and stand for what they believe in.
Q: In your opinion, what qualities make a great female leader?
BB: Many characteristics make for a great female leader. But to list just a few, perseverance, adaptability, and knowing how to ask for help are essential to being a prominent female leader.
Q: What does it mean to you to “empower” women?
BB: Empowering women means giving them the necessary tools to succeed. Offering support and encouraging them that they can accomplish any presented task no matter how daunting it may be.
Q: Do you have any advice for other women who are interested in or are just starting out in our industry?
BB: My advice would be to keep moving forward, take calculated risks, and believe in yourself. In my early twenties, I was unsure of what I wanted to do with my career. I had a clearance, but I did not enjoy my work. I knew there were better opportunities elsewhere. So after eight years, I left my previous company and started with INNOPLEX. Although I was unsure of what the future held for me, I knew I needed to take a risk to better myself. Not everyone will support you or see the vision in what you want to do with your life. No matter what others say, stand firm on your decisions and continue reaching for your goals.
Q: How has your experience as a Woman of INNOPLEX been since you started with the company?
BB: My experience as a Woman of INNOPLEX has been nothing short of wonderful. I have met many great men and women who genuinely support and care about helping others. I couldn't ask for a better company to work for. I know that I am a valued team member, and am honored to participate in INNOPLEX's Women's History Month spotlight.
We are proud to have such strong, talented women as part of our team here at INNOPLEX. We believe that it's important to recognize their achievements and celebrate their success, not just during Women's History Month, but all year round. We are committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued and supported, regardless of their gender or background.
